Solar and wind power will never provide even a tenth of the power needed for our railways and industry when coal gas and oil run out, so appart from the obvious option of nuclear power there is tidal power. I think a barrage from Penarth to Weston should have been built years ago with generators in the barrage to supplement nuclear power and a 6 lane motorway on top.
And to finish the job properly an international airport should be built in the severn esturary with access from the motorway on the barrage, then close bristol & Cardiff airport.
