OSX Leopard, and G4

Postby MERCMAN » July 24th, 2009, 8:43 am

Hi All!
Just joined the forum and was wondering if anybody else has had any experiences with Leopard and changes to the performance of their G4 since installation. All was OK at first, except that the 'sleep' mode was different. It used to shut down and the light on the front would 'breathe' now it turns the screen off but the fans keep running.
There have been several 'automatic' updates by Apple, and I sometimes now have a 'freeze up' when the pointer fails to move and pressing control/apple/escape has no effect. I have to press the power button to turn off and reset. Sometimes, but not always, when I 'shut down' the computer it starts to shut down, but leaves the screen with 'the universe' displayed and the rotating daisy but fails to shut down. There again, I have to resort to using the power button to end the session.

Hi!
Further to my last posting, when I do a 'permissions repair' the text box indicates those permissions which need to be fixed, but also comes up with 'SUIDFILE has been corrupted and will not be repaired'. Any ideas as to what that means? :(

Hi Mercman.
I get the same messages, I think it is safe to ignore them.
