Scribus - Ghostscript installation

Hi!

At present I am running Parallels so that I can use my Serif software but would like to be totally Mac. Found a product - Scribus - on the Web. It is freeware and appears to have lots of attractive feature but requires Ghostscript to run properly. And there's the rub. Ghostscript seems to require a Hampton Court's Maze of instructions for installing and I wondered if anyone has experience of either product?

If you respond in the affirmative, I would be grateful if any tips/instructions are provided in as simple way as possible; I am by no means stupid, but step-by-step would be favourite, else I'm likely to get lost, mainly because some software terms seem incomprehensible to me. I have found a couple of sites that do give instructions but, as the saying goes, it's all Greek to me!
